The problem with broja is the talk of a buy back clause

Can’t see us agreeing to that at all

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Get the feeling that the 60m press link is Everton drumming up interest knowing we are having early talks…

Who knows but certainly something is a foot

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Broja has looked good when I've seen him play. I'd be in favour of moving for him if possible. Definitely over DCL who I think is massively overpriced at a quoted 60 million. I think maybe that's Everton pricing him out of the market for a player of his talent. He's worth nowhere near that.

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
The common theme that seems to derail the financial side of deals is “loan” or “loan to buy”.

Has Sullivan fed C & H the story that no one wants to sell ? But really no one wants to sell because the deals we propose are either derisory bids or loans/loans to buy in a sellers market? Sullivan’s mucky finger prints on all this ?

The first thing he should be able to do is hold the ball up and well for us to break in numbers......the next is to be able to sprint to catch up with the break to get possibly get on the end of something.
A complete bonus if he can defend from the front too.......

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Not sure we have any idea who the right player is for us.
My attitude is that you are better off over paying for the right player than doing what we have and have GSB buy 45 strikers over the years for minimal return.

As mentioned on one of the threads paying record prices for a keeper & teenager in Parkes & Ray Stewart was better value than lots of nearly good enough players.

As many have said we seem to be saying we want 'better' players but want to pay the price of 'average' players. Not sure how that ever produces a result.

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Thinking about it if it is a record offer must be over £45m and Everton want 60m it doesn’t sound a massive leap between them..

I’m not expecting massive movement till the wknd anyway

£30m seems a lot considering there's only half a season to base that on.

Maybe that's the offer Norf was talking about, as there's no way we'd be bidding anything close to what Everton want for DCL.

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
30m for broja…. If that’s anywhere near the case I think Calvert lewin would be better value.

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Chelsea can recall Broja and loan or flog him to us and there's nothing Southampton can do about it (unless they make the offer more appealing to both Chelsea and Broja).

I spoke to a fella at work whose son went through the academy path and said Broja was at Spurs, Found out Broja was born in Slough. Really like the look of him, bit late for getting him at a bargain price though.

We can loan them Yarmolenko for the rest of the season.

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Depends on the terms of his 'loan' deal with Chelsea. You'd assume Chelsea can't just flog him halfway through that loan, but you never know.

Maybe there is a penalty that can be paid to Soton?

Re: David Sullivan has tabled 60 million pounds for Dominic Calvert Lewin
Can Southampton tell us to fuck off when the player isn't theirs?

Put a bid in for £30m with Chelsea and see what happens.

I think if he had a choice between the bright lights of London or the gloom of Southampton he would choose us.

That has also been reported that Soton have told us to fuck off on all avenues of signing him permanent or load.
